My name is Robert but I’m commonly known as Bob. Allow me to tell you a little about me.

When I was a kid, until I was about 10 or 11, I was known as Bobby. I’m named after my late father, which makes me a junior. He was known as Bob and that’s why I was Bobby. My fifth grade teacher is the one who started calling me Bob.Bob

At first I was little Bob and my dad was big Bob. As I got older, my voice changed, and I became taller than my dad, I became young Bob and he was old Bob.

I am the first of eight siblings. I’m not the oldest as I’ll never be old. I’m the most mature, the most seasoned, and the most experienced.

All seven of their names begin with K.

My family and those who know my family call me KBob or Kabob

One of my two sisters at a family gathering one day decided that I needed a nickname that began with K. Almost simultaneously she came up with KBob/Kbob.

It’s been my nickname ever since.

A Brief Account Of My Life

California_population_mapI was born in Santa Monica, CA and have lived in Southern CA all but a few years of my life when I lived in Northern CA. I currently live in Huntington Beach, CA.

My kids are both adults and I have a grandson.

I’ve worked most of my life, beginning with washing windows and mowing lawns at about age 9 or 10. I had paper routes till I was about 13. I kept score at the bowling alley back in the days before that was automated. As a teen, I worked in fast food and various retail jobs.

As an adult, I’ve held many positions including retail management, delivery driver, inside sales, outside sales, insurance agent, driver for Uber and Lyft, and teacher.  I’m very interested in affiliate marketing.

The Purpose Of This Website

Like so many other people, I’ve had a series of wins and losses in life. I know I’m not unique in that regard.

What I came to realize is that many, if not most, of the losses I’ve experienced were/are the direct result of me standing in my own way. In a nutshell, by that I mean they’ve either been the result of poor decision-making, selling myself short, or both.

As a teacher and one who likes to connect with others and who thrives on finding commonality with people, especially peoples’ positive qualities, I decided it would great to be able to help one another by finding ways to help one another get out of our own way.handshake

Often times, one of our biggest barriers, at least in my case, is pride, if not false pride. We, or should I say I, have a hard time admitting when and where we were/are wrong. Furthermore, we keep doing what gets us or got us in trouble.

We don’t do it intentionally. We do it because we don’t know what else to do and either we can’t see or won’t admit what we’re doing wrong, often because we’re embarrassed to admit to ourselves and/or others that we can’t do something right.

The bottom line is, if I can reach other people by sharing some of my mistakes and faults, not to dwell on them, but for the purpose of connecting with others who may be or have struggled with the same kinds of issues, perhaps we can help each other with solutions.

It is my hope that we can create a community of winners who have found a way to benefit from our losses and mishaps.
